Everything you need to know about Illinois food handler training
Food Handler Training
ANAB-accredited Food Handler Training (like Userve’s course) is a legal requirement for food handler employees in the state.
Holding a Certificate of Completion or Food Handlers Card shows employers that you've received training and passed the required exam and are therefore allowed to work as a food handler.
About ANAB
ANAB is the ANSI National Accreditation Board. It is a non-profit organization that oversees administration and coordination of standards and technical regulations in the U.S. ANAB provides a framework for fair standard development and represents the interests of more than 270,000 organizations and 30 million professionals worldwide. Userve’s course is ANAB-accredited.
The state of Illinois passed legislation requiring food handler training certificate programs to be accredited, such as by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). Food handlers in Illinois must complete accredited training to receive a valid Food Handlers Certificate, required for employment in the food service industry. If your training isn’t accredited, it will not be recognized by the state. Userve’s course is ANAB-accredited.
